Touring with the Jonas Brothers and Lil Wayne in the same month? Just another day for Brisbane’s Selfish Sons.

The trio – brothers Jordy, Finn, and Jonty – had a 2024 that feels almost too good to be true. From opening for Lil Wayne and The Kid LAROI in the US to supporting The Jonas Brothers, The Driver Era, Pale Waves, and MAY-A, the pop-rock band have been making major waves globally.

But they’re just getting started.

In 2025, the boys are on the road for a massive Australian tour. Kicking off yesterday in Adelaide, they’ll play two shows in Melbourne, and once each in Brisbane and Sydney over the coming week (see full dates here).

“Touring the U.S. has been life-changing, but there’s nothing like playing at home, we’re so excited to connect with everyone who’s supported us on this journey and celebrate the release of the new EP in the best way we know how, on stage,” the band shared about their homecoming run of dates.

To amp up the local vibe, they’re bringing along not one but three – Sesame Girl, Friends of Friends, and Jacob Fitzgerald – for support.

The tour is in support of the band’s newly released EP, What a Beautiful Waste of Time. It’s the long-awaited follow-up to their 2022 effort Secondhand Emotion, which helped them rack up over 100K followers and 2.4M likes on TikTok.

Jordy, Finn, and Jonty formed Selfish Sons back in high school, blending early 2000s rock and pop influences into their own sound.

To celebrate this major period of touring for the band, Selfish Sons put together a photo diary of their North American exploits for Rolling Stone AU/NZ, which you can check out below.

“Touring in our position is nothing short of a ‘pinch me’ moment every second of the day.”

“To tour with the Jonas Brothers and Lil Wayne in the same month? It feels like a fever dream you wouldn’t ever want to wake up from.”

“Probably the chiropractor that was offering free adjustments and a complimentary tequila shot to [go] with it, doesn’t get much more peculiar. Plus after a long drive, there’s nothing more satisfying.”

“Honestly the feeling of not knowing which gas station our next meal was coming from. Whichever bed, couch or living room floor we were sleeping on between each show made it for us, there’s a freedom to it that is unmatched. There’s no better feeling than being totally in the moment and getting to play a show every night to top everything off.”

“It’s surprising how much touring alongside someone shapes your sonic, we found ourselves more creative than ever being immersed in a different world musically.”
