Indie rock band Daily J have revealed the release date for their third studio album Scatterbrains.
The latest record from the Aotearoa brothers will be available on Friday, February 21st.
They also shared a tall drink of water for summer — their new single “Cheap Tequila Sunrise”. The boys wrote out the recipe for this one too, with the garnish being “sunrise”.

The band described “Cheap Tequila Sunrise” as a “reflection on what it was like to be a kid before life got too complicated. So escaping the daily grind and dreaming of a better place”. It springs with classic rock beats and an underlying bass groove that uplifts the melody.
The accompanying music video centres around a carefree woman, whose to-do list spans life’s simple pleasures: to dance, dine, pose for a photoshoot and more. Shot on Kodak 16mm film, the sunswept imagery is laden with nostalgia.
“We wanted to create a dreamy ‘day-in-the-life’ paradise. Which captures finding joy in life’s simple moments, while hinting at a deeper longing for something more pure and untouched, like the innocence of youth,” Daily J continued.
Fans can expect one more single from Daily J before their third record comes out. “Final release for upcoming album ‘Scatterbrains’ with you very soon!” they posted on social media today.
Plus, fans can grab tickets to their Australian and New Zealand tour from next month, their “biggest headline tour to date”. It will follow three sold-out tours in the two countries, as well as an excellent debut UK tour.
“We can’t wait to play some new songs for you whilst the sun is still with us”.
