Australian drill pioneers ONEFOUR have returned with their first single of the year, continuing to expand their global connections.
Titled “MOVIE”, the track features North London artist Abra Cadabra in a hard-hitting collaboration. Recorded in just one afternoon during Abra Cadabra’s visit to Sydney, the song is fast-paced and full of energy.
The accompanying visuals, filmed across London and Sydney, emphasise the cross-continental link-up. You can watch the full clip below.
“I can only rap what I live, and I live what I rap,” Cadabra explains. “I can never be deceiving.”
“MOVIE” follows ONEFOUR’s string of high-profile collaborations, including “Gang Ties” with UK drill heavyweight Headie One and “SPINNIN” featuring Nemzzz. It also caps off a massive 2024 for the group, highlighted by a nationwide stadium tour with The Kid LAROI that played to over 60,000 fans.
As ONEFOUR approach over a decade as a group, they’re still right at the forefront of Australian drill music. After first making waves with 2019 singles like “The Message” and “Spot the Difference”, they gained added prominence through their collaborations with the likes of The Kid LAROI and A$AP Ferg.
It’s now been five years since they cemented their place at the pinnacle of Australian rap with their 2020 debut EP, Against All Odds. The EP peaked at number seven on the ARIA Albums Chart and number eight on the NZ Albums Chart.
The project’s success, coupled with their raw storytelling, led to their Netflix documentary, which explored the group’s impact and rise.
ONEFOUR & Abra Cadabra’s “MOVIE” is out now on digital platforms.
