Tina Arena will celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of her most iconic albums later this year.
Arena will mark 30 years of her third studio album, Don’t Ask, with a special performance at Mornington Racecourse, where she’ll be accompanied by Daryl Braithwaite and other Australian music legends.
The 30th anniversary concert is part of the newly announced ALWAYS LIVE 2024 program.
The largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, ALWAYS LIVE will return for its third year to Victoria for a massive 17-day statewide celebration of contemporary live music this November and December.
Over 289 artists will descend on Victoria for ALWAYS LIVE 2024, with 35% of the program set to take place in regional parts of the state.
Alongside Arena, other artists announced for this year’s event include Jack White, St. Vincent, and Chet Faker.
Last year saw Arena release Love Saves, her first album in almost eight years.
Love Saves was the singer’s seventh all-English studio album. “Like many of us, I retreated inwards during the pandemic,” Arena said about the album. “I found solace in music. I processed my feelings the only way I know how – through my art.
“From rock bottom, I ran the gauntlet of human emotion. I faced my own demons, emerging the other side transformed, triumphant, renewed, and at peace. Remember, be brave, be vulnerable, and love saves!”
Produced by Mattias Lindblom, Love Saves featured many notable musicians backing up Arena, including Andy Taylor and Jack Jones on guitar, and Tania Doko on backing vocals.
Last year also saw Arena give a stirring call to action for artists during her powerful speech at the 2023 Shure Rolling Stone Australia Awards.
Arena was also honoured at the ceremony with the first-ever Rolling Stone Icon Award, and later performed a stunning duet of her 1994 hit “Chains” with Best New Artist winner Budjerah.
