San Cisco have announced a national album tour in support of their fifth studio album, Under the Light.
The indie-pop trio will hit the road from October to November, starting in Adelaide and then heading to Melbourne, Busselton, Fremantle, Brisbane, and finishing in Sydney (see full dates below).
Joining them are electropop trio Haiku Hands and Touch Sensitive with a DJ set.
General tickets go on sale Thursday, July 25th at 12pm local time via San Cisco’s website. Pre-sale begins on Wednesday, July 14th at 12pm local time. Sign up here for early access to tickets.
The Fremantle three-piece of Jordi Davieson, Scarlett Stevens, and Josh Biondillo chatted with Rolling Stone AU/NZ ahead of the album’s release back in February. They discussed the funky lead single “Summer Days“, featuring Pond frontman Nicholas Allbrook.
“’Summer Days’ was this song that we’d written early on. All the music was there. All the melodies. But we could never quite get the lyrics to land,” Davieson said. “So we sent it to Nick [Allbrook] who wrote a bunch of ideas down and we came into the studio and sort of recorded it all.”
San Cisco’s collaboration with Pond members extended beyond just Allbrook. “The whole record was pretty much a collaboration with Pond,” revealed Davieson.
“We worked with James Ireland [Pond’s drummer] producing the record. The other single, ‘Under the Light’, was a demo Jay Watson gave us because he lives around the corner. We saw him at the pub one night and he said, ‘Here’s this idea for a recording,'” they added.
