Fresh from unveiling their special 50th anniversary tour in Australia, Cold Chisel have announced a run of New Zealand shows for next year.
The legendary Aussie rockers will cross the water to perform in Gibbston Valley, Taupō, and Whitianga next January as part of Greenstone Entertainment’s ‘Summer Concert Tour’ (see full dates below).
Cold Chisel will be joined at each show by Icehouse, Bic Runga, and Everclear.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, July 1st at 12pm local time. The Cold Chisel newsletter subscribers pre-sale begins on Thursday, June 27th at 10am local time.
Locals in Queenstown, Taupō, and Whitianga can secure limited locals tickets on Thursday, June 27th at 9am local time from Gibbston Valley Winery, Taupō Customer & Visitor Centre, and Whitianga i-Site.
Demand has been huge for Cold Chisel’s Australian tour, with the first 16 shows selling out immediately, leading to the addition of six new shows.
“We were completely blown away by the response last week,” said Jimmy Barnes. “The demand for tickets was bigger than anything we’ve ever seen before.”
“Unfortunately we can’t do gigs everywhere, so we’ve tried to get to the places where the outcry was loudest,” added Ian Moss. “The reaction of our fans has really fired us up – we can’t wait to play for everyone.”
