Hot girl summer is officially here. Megan Thee Stallion will release her new album, Megan, on June 28 via Hot Girl Productions. The rapper revealed the album’s title and release date during a concert in Atlanta, sharing the album art and pre-save link with the audience.
The Sunday night announcement came after Megan was forced to cancel her concerts in Atlanta on Friday and Saturday nights due to a water main break in the city. “Unfortunately, we will need to reschedule tonight’s show at State Farm Arena due to the massive water main break that The City of Atlanta is experiencing,” she wrote on social media. “I’m extremely disappointed because I had a huge surprise for the Hotties tonight, but we will follow the Mayor’s protocol.”
Earlier on Friday, Megan tweeted that she would share a “special announcement” during her Atlanta show, which she was forced to hold until Sunday.

Megan previously discussed the album in an interview with L’OFFICIEL last month, saying she thinks of the project as a “rebirth.” It marks her first LP since Tory Lanez shooting trial concluded last August.
“This is music I would like if I wasn’t Megan Thee Stallion,” she said in the interview. “I don’t want to say I’m tapping into other genres. I’m just tapping into other sounds. But it’s still very much Megan Thee Stallion. It won’t feel like I went so left. It’ll feel true to me. You’ll almost be like, ‘I wouldn’t have thought she would’ve rapped over that, but this sounds great.’”
She added of the tone, “I’m really not focused on the negativity on my album. I have a lot of different songs on the album because my emotion doesn’t stop at anger. My emotion doesn’t stop at sadness because I did grow and I did start feeling more things. I started feeling really happy. So you have songs on the album that are about the positive times that I’m starting to have. You get a little bit of everything. You get all the emotions in there.”
Megan Thee Stallion’s last LP, Traumazine, arrived in 2022. This year, she has unveiled three snake-themed singles, “Hiss,” “Wanna Be,” and “Boa.” As Women’s Health’s cover star in April, the rapper explained that her snake motif is a symbol of rebirth. “They’re feared, misunderstood, respected, healing,” she said.
Her headlining Hot Girl Summer tour continues until July 27, where she’ll perform at Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C.
