It goes without saying that life can get a little bit hectic sometimes, and often, we’re in need of that crucial escapism that allows us to unplug from our day to day to experience something bold and exciting.
In recent years, we’ve seen the gaming industry hit new heights on a regular basis when it comes to providing an immersive experience that utilises groundbreaking technology to make its mark on pop culture. Whether it be fast-paced sporting games, adventurous action-packed titles, or classic puzzlers, a gaming classic requires the best possible setup to ensure you’re enjoying it in the best way possible.
That’s where Sonos smart speakers and soundbars provide an easy and premium audio experience while you sit back and enjoy the content you love.
Sonos are committed to turning things up to eleven by making sure your TV, gaming, and music experiences are the best they can be. Start with the all new Ray or a Beam soundbar for dramatically clear sound, with the option to expand your system over time (you’ll feel that enhanced bass when adding a Sub).
To honour the Sonos commitment of bettering the audio-visual experience, we’ve taken a look at some of the most anticipated games set to arrive in 2022 (that would be best complemented by the Sonos listening experience). Gotham Knights
First announced back in 2020 and finally set to arrive in October of this year, Gotham Knights sees us return to the hometown of the Caped Crusader for the first Batman video game in five years. Based upon the comic series of the same name, Gotham Knights is set in Gotham City following the respective deaths of Batman and Police Commissioner James Gordon, and sees the iconic metropolis facing a new era of lawlessness.
While the likes of Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood tasked with restoring justice to Gotham, the gameplay sees them continuing his legacy as they serve as the only force of good left within the city. Having been in development for a few years, and with its release slowly approaching, Gotham Knights is already on track to be one of the year’s biggest games, with expectations high for another classic DC Comics gaming experience.
Hogwarts Legacy
Close to a decade on from the last console release in the series, Hogwarts Legacy takes gamers back to the wizarding world of Harry Potter for another magical journey unlike any other. Having been in production for five-and-a-half years, anticipation has been reaching fever pitch during that time, with plot points, leaked footage, and video of official gameplay making it clear this is set to be a massive entry in the series.
Based on the Harry Potter series of books and films and the recent Fantastic Beasts spin-off series, Hogwarts Legacy takes gamers back to the late 1800s as they discover ancient secrets, forgotten magic, and are faced with the impending destruction of the wizarding world. Along with plenty of iconic characters (and a rash of new ones), Hogwarts Legacy just goes to show that even 25 years on from the debut of the Harry Potter series, we still can’t get enough of it.
God of War: Ragnarök
The sequel to 2018’s God of War, Ragnarök is currently slated for release in late 2022, and frankly, that date couldn’t come sooner for fans. Already set to follow-up one of the best-selling, and most critically-acclaimed games of all time, it was back in 2020 that Ragnarök was named as one of the most anticipated games, and since then, that desire has only grown.
Set to take place three years after its predecessor, Ragnarök takes players back to ancient Scandanavia as they embrace Norse mythology while dealing with the impending and titular Ragnarök; an epic battle that brings about the end of days.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2
We’d be remiss to not talk about most-anticipated games of 2022 without giving a little bit of attention to the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2. The follow-up to 2017’s Breath of The Wild, the forthcoming sequel was announced back in 2019 and has been at the top of players’ wishlists ever since.
Of course, while initial indications told us that 2022 would be the year in which we finally receive it, recent updates have seen its impending release pushed back to early 2023. Of course, knowing how easy it is to raise excitement, we’re holding out hope that maybe this was simply a ploy to bless us with a surprise release before the year is out. Well, we can only hope.
