New Zealand alt-pop icon BENEE has announced her return to Australia, with a run of headline dates set to take place in early 2022.
Last in the country for the 2020 edition of Laneway Festival, BENEE has had a bit of a busy time in the last couple of years. In addition to going viral thanks to the success of “Supalonely”, the 21-year-old Kiwi artist also delivered her debut album in November of 2020, and had plans to return to Australia for this year’s edition of Yours & Owls thwarted at the last minute due to COVID.
Now, with things looking up, touring returning to normal, and BENEE once again on the Yours & Owls lineup, she’s announced her official return to Australia, unveiling a run of local dates for 2022 which coincides with her long-awaited world tour.
“I am beyond excited to announce that my 2022 WORLD TOUR KICKS OFF IN NZ in Feb next year!!!!!!!!!” BENEE said in a statement. “It’s been such a long time coming & we’ve lived through a lot in these weird times but shows starting up again has rly got everyone sososososo happyyy!!!! I can’t wait to get back out there & meet all of u and play a bunch of new musiiiiiicccc!!
“I AM SO READY TO TOUR!!” she adds. “Doing shows with my band is the best thing and I have missed it so badly this year. Waiting, rescheduling, waiting again has been incredibly difficult.”
Kicking off her world tour in New Zealand early next year, BENEE will also visit Europe, the UK, and North America, but will hit up Australia in March and April. Beginning in Hobart, the seven-date trek will see BENEE visiting the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Adelaide, before wrapping up with a show at the Big Top in Sydney on April 7th.
