US singer Tai Verdes has shared a pair of live tracks for the latest instalment of Rolling Stone’s ‘In My Room’, a series in which artists perform from home following a year which has seen live shows become a rarity.
If you’ve been following the world of music – and especially the world of music on TikTok – then the name Tai Verdes might just be one that is awfully familiar. While the last two years have been hellish for all and sundry, the likes of Tai Verdes has seen time spent on pause being paired with a steady rise to fame.
Speaking to the BBC earlier this year, Tai Verdes explained how he went from working at a Verizon store in early 2020, to suddenly becoming a viral sensation thanks to the success of his song “Stuck in The Middle”, which saw millions of TikTok users using it to soundtrack their videos.
Since then, his profile has risen considerably, with his single “A-O-K” sitting at a comfortable 115 million streams on Spotify alone. Needless to say, he’s an artist on the rise, and with some of the smoothest tracks going around, his appeal is understandable.
Now, with debut album TV arriving out into the world earlier this year, Tai Verdes has donated some of his time to share a brief performance for our ‘In My Room’ series.
Recorded last month during a US tour with Quinn XCII and Chelsea Cutler, Tai Verdes and guitarist Dylan dish out a pair of tracks from his tour bus, with the laid-back vibe of the songs being complemented by the intimate nature of the performance.
Kicking things off with “Solamente”, it’s clear that they’re both having just as much fun as we are, before capping it off with a stellar rendition of the ubiquitous hit, “A-O-K”.
