With just weeks to go until the release of her second studio album, and just under two months until the launch of her accompanying album tour, Amy Shark has added a new show and given fans a positive tour update in the lead-up to its kick-off.
Having announced a national tour of the country alongside news of her CRY FOREVER album back in December, many fans may have thought that Amy Shark’s decision to hold a national arena tour in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic may have been somewhat ambitious.
However, as the country continues to improve and return to a sense of normalcy following a difficult year, Amy has given fans formal, emphatic confirmation that her tour will proceed as planned, with fully reserved seating now implemented at the Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth dates. Additionally, existing ticket-holders able to convert their standing floor tickets to allocated seats on the floor.
“It’s been a very hard time for live music, both for artists and fans, with many tours having to postpone or cancel for reasons out of their control,” she explains. “This album is very important to me, so making these shows happen is my number one priority.
“I know you have been looking forward to this tour and these shows as much as I have, so we have made some changes which has involved converting the standing floor tickets to reserved seating at some of the shows to ensure we are aligned with the COVID-safe guidelines. By making these changes, it means the shows will go ahead.
“I was willing to do whatever it took to get this tour on the road. I’m so excited to play my biggest shows to date and am currently putting together a rather impressive show for you!”
This news means that Amy’s upcoming tour is one of the first global arena tours to take place following a year full of lockdowns and quarantine, with the Department of Health being consulted in order to ensure the commencement of these shows in a safe manner.
In addition to the positive update, an extra show has also been added to the start of Amy’s tour itinerary due to massive demand, with Newcastle now set to host the world-beating artist on June 11th.
