With just under a month until the 2021 edition of Bluesfest kicks off, organisers have once again expanded the lineup, with the likes of Pete Murray, Kate Ceberano, Mark Seymour and The Undertow, and more set to join the already-stacked bill.
Following on from a difficult year which saw the 2020 edition of Bluesfest unfortunately cancelled just weeks out from kick-off due to COVID-related restrictions placed upon mass gatherings. Only weeks after the festival would’ve taken place, organisers proved how hard they were working at making sure the next year would be one to remember, revealing dates for the next festival, with the 2021 lineup following just a couple of months later.
Unfortunately, with COVID-19 still a formidable presence within the world, the Bluesfest lineup was once again forced to adapt, this time with all international acts being removed from the lineup, meaning that the 2021 edition will be an entirely homegrown festival.
Now, with one of the strongest local lineups in Australian concert history on hand, and with only a few weeks to go before things kick off, Bluesfest have once again expanded their bill, adding a massive nine acts to the lineup today.
Leading the charge is the likes of Pete Murray, Mark Seymour and The Undertow, and Kate Ceberano, who are all set to perform on the closing Easter Monday slot of Bluesfest. Meanwhile Fiona Boyes & the Fortune Tellers, Lambros., The Regime, Round Mountain Girls, Electrik Lemonade, and Palm Valley also join the festivities, with highly-anticipated performances set to take place across the weekend.
“We can’t wait to be presenting Bluesfest in 4 weeks,” said Festival Director, Peter Noble OAM in a statement. “Pinch me, my dream is coming true to see festivals occurring again in Australia.
“With the addition of nine more sensational AUSTRALIAN artists to our already magnificent lineup, I am convinced this will be one of the great Bluesfests. Pete Murray, Mark Seymour & The Undertow and Kate Ceberano join our headline lineup to play on the final day of Bluesfest – and this will make Easter Monday a special day to be at Bluesfest. In fact, Easter Monday is shaping up now to be one of the highlight days of the Easter weekend.”
