Aussie Surfing Legend Mick Fanning Welcomes First Child With Fiancée

Mick Fanning can now add ‘proud dad’ to his list of achievements with the news that he and Breeana Randall have welcomed their first child.

Mick Fanning proposed to partner Breeana Randall during a photoshoot at Dreamtime Beach for their baby announcement.

Announcing their son’s arrival via Instagram on August 12, Fanning, 39, wrote: “Hi, my name is Xander Dean Fanning and I came into the world on 10th August 2020 at 2:14pm. I weigh 3.31 kg.”

“I’m extremely strong, healthy and calm all because of my beautiful Mama Breeana is a full-on superhero.”

Gushing about his fiancée, the Gold Coast surfer continued, “Mama was so calm, relaxed and in the zone. Dada calls her his Zen Wonder Woman and is so in awe of how strong and amazing she is.”

“Dada thought he could focus but he’s got nothing on Mama. She rules. Dada loves you beyond words.”

He added, “Can’t wait to meet all my family, friends and all my Uncles and Aunties around the world that gave us so much support.”

Fanning popped the question to 27-year-old Randall in February this year at Dreamtime Beach in Northern New South Wales during a photoshoot for their baby announcement. They later surprised fans on Instagram, with the news that not only were the pair were expecting, they were also set to tie the knot.

“Yesterday was one of those incredible days!! @breeanablue and I went to shoot some baby announcement photos and then this happened!!” the former ASP World Tour champion wrote at the time.

“This beautiful woman has stolen my heart and I’m so excited to create a beautiful family with her. Bub is due in August. So excited to start this new chapter with a person I truly admire and love. @breeanablue and Harper and new little one this is going to be magical!” he said.

The loved-up couple went first went public with their relationship in November 2017, two years following Mick’s split from first wife Karissa Dalton.

Mick Fanning retired from the World Surf League in 2018 after an astonishing career that saw him nab 22 tour wins, 11 top 5 finishes and three world titles.
