Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Sneaky Sound System are heading to Perth next February, with the two acts confirmed as the musical headliners for HSBC SVNS Perth 2027.

The annual rugby sevens event will return to HBF Park on February 6th-7th, combining international sporting action with live music and entertainment across the weekend.

Ellis-Bextor will take to the stage on Saturday, February 6th, for an Australian-exclusive performance, while Australian electronic duo Sneaky Sound System will close out the festivities on Sunday, February 7th.

Best known for her 2001 hit “Murder on the Dancefloor”, Ellis-Bextor experienced a major career resurgence in 2024 after the song featured prominently in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn. The track returned to charts around the world more than two decades after its original release, introducing the British pop star to a new generation of listeners. Off the back of that, she released her eighth studio album Perimenopop in 2025.

“I can’t wait to get back to Perth and sing and dance with all of my friends in WA!” Ellis-Bextor said.

Meanwhile, Sneaky Sound System will bring their catalogue of Australian dance favourites to the event’s closing night. The ARIA Award-winning duo, comprising Connie Mitchell and Angus McDonald, rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with hits including “UFO”, “I Love It” and “Pictures”, becoming a fixture of Australia’s electronic music scene.

“Perth knows how to throw a good party, and we’re ready to let loose with you,” the duo said.

Both acts will perform in the event’s revamped Party Stand, which will feature a Boiler Room-inspired stage designed to bring performers closer to the crowd. A lineup of Perth DJs and emerging local talent will also perform throughout the weekend, with further announcements expected.

The 2027 edition will adopt a “Go Tropical” theme, transforming HBF Park into a summer festival precinct alongside matches featuring some of the world’s leading men’s and women’s rugby sevens teams.

Beyond the headline performances, attendees can expect additional live music across several areas of the venue, including DJ sets at the Castaway Club and acoustic performances at the Palm Paradise Stage. Roving brass bands, mariachis, Brazilian drummers and other entertainers will also feature throughout the weekend.

“Perth will be partying with our champion Aussie sevens stars when the world comes to town for HSBC SVNS Perth in February. With an international pop star and an Aussie dance icon on the bill, as well as world-class athletes building towards the Los Angeles Olympics, there’s something for everyone,” Rugby Australia CEO Phil Waugh said.

“Grab your loudest shirt, round up your crew and come for the rugby, the music and the atmosphere at Perth’s ultimate international summer party.”
