Australian electronic music heavyweight Mall Grab has been announced as the final headliner for Field Day 2027, completing the lineup for Sydney’s annual New Year’s Day festival.

The Newcastle-born producer will join previously announced headliners Major Lazer and Sub Focus at The Domain on Friday, January 1st, with the festival set to bring together some of the biggest names in international dance music. The announcement follows last month’s initial lineup reveal, which confirmed Major Lazer’s return to Australia for the first time in 11 years, alongside UK drum and bass favourite Sub Focus and a host of local and international acts.

Tickets are on sale now here.

Mall Grab, whose real name is Jordon Alexander, has spent the past decade establishing himself as one of Australia’s most successful electronic music exports, building a global following through his distinctive blend of house, techno, rave and club music.

After breaking through with his debut EP Feel U in 2015, he continued to gain momentum with releases including 2018’s “Liverpool Street in the Rain”, before expanding his sound with collaborations spanning electronic music and hardcore punk. In 2020, he teamed up with Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates for the collaborative EP Share a View, which reimagined tracks from the Baltimore hardcore band’s catalogue through an electronic lens. The pair later reunited on “Understand”, taken from Mall Grab’s 2022 debut album What I Breathe.

Released through his own Looking For Trouble label, the album marked a major milestone in his career, featuring tracks including “Love Reigns”. More recently, Mall Grab has continued releasing music including “Everything” and “iluv”, the latter a collaboration with fellow producer and now-wife Effy. The pair also recently brought their multi-artist event series Fragrance to Australia for the first time, taking over Sydney’s Carriageworks for a sold-out night of electronic music.

Beyond its three headliners, Field Day’s 2027 lineup features a wide-ranging selection of dance acts, including Andy C, Boys Noize, Elderbrook, Hannah Laing, Funk Tribu, southstar, MPH, and nimino. The festival will also welcome the likes of 2CHARM, Club Angel, Latifa Tee, Oppidan, Cassette, and Tanzer, with the program spanning house, techno, drum and bass and other corners of the electronic music scene.

The upcoming edition marks another milestone for Field Day, which has become a fixture of Sydney’s summer festival calendar since launching 25 years ago.

Over that time, the event has welcomed more than half a million attendees to The Domain, with previous lineups featuring RÜFÜS DU SOL, The xx, Disclosure, Mark Ronson, Tame Impala, Solange, Flume and Dom Dolla.
The 2027 event also coincides with the 30th anniversary of promoter Fuzzy, the Australian company behind Field Day and a number of major dance music events.
