You can’t say you didn’t see this coming.
Within hours of presale tickets going on sale, Powderfinger have been forced to add new shows to their 2027 comeback tour due to overwhelming demand.
On Wednesday, the iconic rock outfit announced new dates in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. Check out all of the dates and venues below.
“We are absolutely ecstatic to be coming together to play again,” the band said in a statement on Monday. “Over the years there have been tons of suggestions for us to go back on the road but, until now, it never felt quite right or lined up for all of us.”
“We have always been so grateful for the continued support from our long-term fans and over the years we’ve picked up a lot of new ones who have never seen us play. So, it feels right to bring all of these people (including our kids who were too young to see us play) together for a special run of shows around the country next year.”
“People often tell us that our music is connected to their most treasured and joyous memories. We hope to spread a little more of that joy when we make our way around the country with some of Australia’s best established and upcoming talent, and to make some new memories for us all.”
As Rolling Stone AU/NZ previously reported, mysterious billboards and light displays began appearing across the country on Tuesday, featuring a series of numbers and statistics seemingly referencing the band’s career.

The band called time on their career in 2010 after more than two decades together, signing off with the mammoth ‘Sunsets’ farewell tour. Then in May 2020, all five members came together remotely for the ‘One Night Lonely’ livestream, raising more than $500,000 for Support Act and Beyond Blue.
