The Fray Announce 2027 Australia and New Zealand Tour With Dashboard Confessional

The Fray have announced a 2027 Australian and New Zealand tour, supported by Dashboard Confessional and Rachael Fahim

The Fray are coming back to Australia in 2027.

Less than two years after selling out their six-date tour Down Under, the US alternative rock favourites will return in February for their ‘Summer of Light Tour’, playing a mix of headline shows and outdoor dates across Melbourne, Torquay, Perth, Wollongong, Sydney, Lake Macquarie and Sandstone Point.

The run will also take the band to New Zealand for the first time. See full dates below.

Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Thursday, September 17th, following a presale from 10am on Tuesday, September 15th. All times are local. Sign up for presale here.

They’re bringing some familiar names along for the ride – Dashboard Confessional and Australian country artist Rachael Fahim will support the indoor headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland, while Fahim will join The Fray for their Wollongong date.

The outdoor leg forms part of the next Lookout Festival series and boasts an even bigger lineup, with Bastille, Dashboard Confessional, Killing Heidi and Little Birdy joining them. Killing Heidi will appear at all Lookout dates except Perth.

The tour will usher in a new era for The Fray, as it comes in support of their recently released album, A Light That Waits – their first full-length collection of new music in more than a decade and first as the core trio of Joe King, Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki.

“We had such an incredible time touring in Australia in 2025. The energy from those crowds was unbelievable,” King said. “To come back and be able to share A Light That Waits alongside the songs fans have grown up with – and to have our long-time friends Dashboard Confessional with us – is going to make these nights unforgettable.”

The Fray returned from a decade-long hiatus in 2024, beginning a new chapter without former frontman Isaac Slade. The band broke through in the mid-2000s with their debut album, How to Save a Life, and its title track, which spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since been certified Diamond in the US.
