Tim Minchin features on the official theme song for the forthcoming The Cat in the Hat film.
The track for Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s first full-length film dropped on Friday, which sees the Australian musician and comedian team up with French artist Fitz (of Fitz and the Tantrums), while US star Bill Hader, who stars as the titular character, also features. Check it out below.
“This movie is absolutely gorgeous,” Minchin said in a social media post.
“Can’t wait to see it all finished on the big screen.”
The news comes only days after Minchin picked up the Creative Emmy Award for Outstanding Commercial with Apple’s “I’m Not Remarkable” song, which he wrote and produced.
The Cat in the Hat is set to hit Australian screens on December 31st. As well as Hader, the film stars Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, and Paula Pell, and featuring Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang, and Tituss Burgess.
As reported by Page Six earlier this year, Hilary Duff will provide the title track for the movie, “Catastrophe.”
