Rolling Stone AU/NZ is exclusively streaming C.O.F.F.I.N’s new feature-length documentary for the next 24 hours, ahead of its public release.
After a run of limited cinema screenings across Australia, Europe, the UK and US in recent months, many of which sold out, the Sydney hard rockers are bringing the documentary, 10,000 Miles From Oslo, to YouTube from tomorrow, following demand from fans.
Created by Jake Laderman and Scott Marrinan, 10,000 Miles From Oslo traces more than two decades of the band’s history, beginning with a group of childhood friends making noise on Sydney’s Northern Beaches and following their rise into an internationally recognised live act.
The documentary features contributions from figures across the Australian punk scene, while charting the journey to Norway that ultimately led to the creation of their sixth album, Out In Oslo.
Due out September 18th via King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s p(doom) records, their new album features recent singles “13 Days”, “Sleep In It”, and “Think Bad”, which saw C.O.F.F.I.N – comprising lead vocalist and drummer Ben Portnoy, lead guitarist and vocalist Abijah Rado, guitarist and vocalist Aaron Moss, and bassist and vocalist Steven ‘Kosty’ Kostogiannis – throw themselves deeper into an exploration of rock n roll, trading some of their wall-of-sound power for a more mid-paced groove and ZZ Top-toughness.
Produced by Declan Mehrtens (Amyl and the Sniffers), with vocals co-produced by Jason Whalley (Frenzal Rhomb), the record sees C.O.F.F.I.N broaden their sound while exploring Australian identity, community, environmentalism and injustice. Out In Oslo nods to the rich and raw lineage of bands such as Coloured Balls, The Angels, and AC/DC, while filtering it through their own Northern Beaches lens.

C.O.F.F.I.N will support the album with their biggest Australian headline shows to date in February and March 2027, beginning at Melbourne’s Max Watts on February 26th before stops in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Hobart. See full dates below. Tickets are on sale now here.
Out In Oslo follows 2023’s Australia Stops, which earned the band an ARIA Award nomination for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album and was their first to impact the Australian charts.
