Alex Warren has cancelled his Auckland concert just hours before he was due to take the stage, telling fans he is currently too sick to perform.
The US singer-songwriter was scheduled to perform at Spark Arena tonight (Monday, August 24th) as part of his ‘Finding Family on the Road’ world tour. Warren announced the cancellation this afternoon, posting to his Instagram Stories that he had tried to find a way to go ahead with the show but was currently bedridden.
“Auckland, I never have to do this and it breaks my heart to even write this but I have to cancel tonight’s show,” he wrote. “I have tried everything to be able to make this show work and I’m sadly bed ridden sick at the moment. I can barely talk let alone sing and It sadly isn’t possible to play tonight’s show.”
Warren also acknowledged fans who had travelled to Auckland for the concert, saying that had made the decision particularly difficult.
“I love you so so much and I hope you know how grateful I am to each and every one of you. I understand what it takes to be able to attend concerts and the fact that so many of you traveled for this one has made this decision even more difficult. I love you so much and I hope you understand.”
Refund information will be sent to ticketholders via their point of purchase, he added.

The Auckland date was the final New Zealand stop on Warren’s current run before the tour heads across the Tasman. His next scheduled performance is at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena on Friday, August 28th.
Warren returned to New Zealand this month following his sold-out Australian and New Zealand tour in 2025. The latest run comes amid a major period for the singer, whose global breakout has been fuelled by the success of “Ordinary”.
The track has been certified seven-times Platinum in Australia and four-times Platinum in New Zealand, while Warren has amassed more than 7.7 billion career streams.
