Naarm/Melbourne artist REDD. has announced their new project, heaven’s here, set for release on Friday, November 20th via Island Records Australia, alongside its latest single, “better”.

Arriving on the eve of REDD.’s headline show in Amsterdam, “better” is a fuzzed-out rush of guitars and blurred judgement, capturing the impulse to ditch responsibility and disappear into a good night.

The track was originally conceived as a party song in late 2025, but had taken on a different meaning by the time REDD. travelled to London to record it with acclaimed producer Dan Carey, whose credits include Wet Leg, Fontaines D.C. and Geese.

“I was dealing with a lot personally, and the pub became this strange place of comfort and escape. ‘Better’ is about that feeling of wanting to outrun reality, even if only for a night,” REDD. says.

The second track lifted from heaven’s here, “better” revolves around the hook, “If you like me now, I’m better when I’m fucked up”, distilling the reckless optimism, self-destruction and fleeting freedom of late nights in your early twenties.

Those contradictions sit at the centre of heaven’s here, which pulls together elements of punk, rap and electronic music while exploring gender, sexuality, grief, love, escapism and coming of age. The project documents a period of experimentation and self-discovery for REDD., but one that became considerably heavier than initially intended.

“I remember before I went to write and record ‘heaven’s here’ I wanted it to be a party, an escape for people. The week leading up to my writing trip for the project I had a difficult series of events followed by me and my girlfriend at the time breaking up. Life got very heavy, very fast. And now I needed an escape from something. That’s what heaven’s here became,” REDD. said.

“To me heaven’s here is about identity, grief and self discovery,” they added. “I felt as if I had gone all the way back to square one and had to be build myself back up again. It was an incredibly difficult time of my life and there were many times where I found myself escaping and coping through substances and lust.”

REDD. has amassed more than 3.7 million global streams since beginning to release music and was named among Rolling Stone AU/NZ’s Future of Music 2026 artists, with their music also appearing across film, television and gaming.

Following recent shows at Lulie’s Tavern in Melbourne and Dead Set in Sydney, REDD. is currently heading into a run of European dates, including headline shows and appearances at Great September, Reeperbahn and Obstwiesenfestival. They will also support Perth group South Summit on select dates of the band’s global tour, with further European shows still to be announced.

Back in Australia, REDD. is confirmed to perform at NYE on the Hill in South Gippsland, Victoria.
